Well, we’re not sure what happened, but the summer seems to have flown by in a very warm blur!
For some, September is tinged with the sadness of summer being over, but for others, the seasonal change is a time to embrace all things new.
We all love a crisp, autumn walk through the crunchy leaves, its good for our minds and bodies, but cold, windy weather isn’t so great for your skin. With that in mind, here are SBC’s top beauty & wellness tips to help you transition from summer to autumn with ease…
- Hydrate your face with hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic Acid is now in almost all top anti-ageing skincare formulas, as it is the ultimate hydrating ingredient. We recommend SBC Collagen Ultra Rich Cream which contains plenty of skin nourishing ingredients including Hyaluronic Acid to lock in essential moisture. Apply after cleansing with the creamy Collagen 3-in-1 Cleanser and rinsing with luke warm water to avoid drying out the skin.
- Reveal smoother skin with gentle exfoliation
To avoid your skin from becoming dull and lacklustre during the autumn months, up your exfoliation to twice a week. Exfoliating regularly, helps to increase cellular regeneration and removes dead skin cells that can hinder the absorption of any moisturisers or serums, which your skin craves in the colder months.
When selecting a scrub for your face or body, we recommend choosing one with natural exfoliants. Our Manuka Honey & Orange Blossom Scrub for the body contains Dead Sea Salt and crushed natural Sugar, and for the face and neck the All Skins 3-in-1 Face Polish with Jojoba Wax beads, and a botanical blend of Green Tea and Gingko Biloba will to keep your skin refreshed and radiant throughout Autumn.
- Turn down the heating to protect your skin
Being indoors in a centrally heated home or office is very drying for your skin. Instead of whacking up the heating, take advantage of all the cosy cardies, jumpers and slippers to stay warm. When you really do need some heat, consider using a humidifier to keep some moisture in the air, and (I know we say this a lot) but make sure you are still hydrating yourself with H20 – this will help keep your skin hydrated and healthy too.
- Eat Seasonally
With the arrival of the new season, now is the time to change your diet! Autumn is an amazing season for seasonal fruits and vegetables that can hopefully help inspire you to incorporate more of these great foods into your diet, which will boost your immune system, and help make your skin glow.
From delicious roasted aubergine to sweet figs, plums, pumpkin, parsnips and more. Some of our favourite fresh seasonal dishes are creamy pumpkin soup, roasted root vegetables, cranberry chutney, baked sweet potatoes and home-made apple pies.

- Embrace Hygge this Autumn
As the season shifts, give yourself permission to make different choices and changes in your lifestyle.
The shorter days and longer nights are the perfect excuse to take the time to really look after yourself. Use this Autumn as an ideal time to hibernate, giving yourself time for you.
Spend time relaxing at home, wrapped up with a hot water bottle, in your comfies and enjoying early nights. Watch movies, drink chai tea, and enjoy the company of your loved ones.
