Lianne is our PR Executive, while the lovely Annie is away on maternity leave, and loving every minute of it!
Tell us a bit about yourself Lianne?
I’m originally from Solihull, but moved to Suffolk 3 years ago, to move in with my better half, Matt, who grew up here. We met at Oxford Brooke’s University about 7 years ago and now we have a lovely little house together and our adorable, yet somewhat crazy, miniature dachshund Albie.
I studied English Language at university and landed my first job in Solihull as PA. When I moved to Suffolk I started as a PA/Marketing Coordinator at an Estate Agents, this is when I realised how much I enjoy marketing, so I decided to do a Professional Certificate in Marketing. When this job came about I couldn’t resist applying for it – being a PR Executive for SBC is amazing.
Outside of work Matt & I are very into our health and fitness, we love cooking delicious healthy recipes, going to the gym together and long walks with Albie. I also attend an Aerial Arts school and absolutely love hoop, silks and pole – such a fun form of exercise!
What’s your area of expertise?
I have always had a passion for writing, and I love being able to write every day about SBC’s fabulous products, and with this forever increasing my knowledge of the fabulous ingredients they contain.
Do you have a personal beauty tip to share?
Check the ingredients! Before working at SBC I didn’t understand the benefits of certain ingredients. I would always trust the product’s claims without considering the effectiveness of the ingredients, and if it was suitable for my skin. It is safe to say I was using products way too harsh for my skin, with no real benefits. I have learnt so much!
What is your favourite SBC product?
The Honey & Oats Shower Crème, it smells like a dream and is so nourishing, it leaves my skin so smooth and soft.
Do you have a real beauty no-no or bug bear?
Sleeping in make-up! Your skin repairs itself whilst you sleep, so give it a helping hand by removing that make-up and treat it to products suited for your skin type before bed.
What goes on in your average day at SBC?
No day is the same and I am constantly busy which I love. First of all is to grab a cuppa - then check my e-mails and answer review requests and product queries from journalists. I spend a lot of time writing press releases about new products, offers, ingredient editorials, SBC news stories and copy for QVC. I liaise with editors and journalists to get SBC into as many publications as possible.
Desert Island Disc?
I am known for my terrible taste in music (some might say) but anything I can have a good boogie to. I’m particularly enjoying bopping around to Bruno Mars at the moment.
A three-course meal - starting with camembert, followed by Mum’s beef wellington and all the trimmings, finishing with a crème brulee (then maybe some more cheese)!
SBC is based in Suffolk, what is your favourite Suffolk spot?
I have loved exploring Suffolk since moving here! Being from the midlands I just can’t get enough of the coast. I love Aldeburgh! The town is beautiful, and the fish and chips there are to die for.
Describe your perfect day?
A warm summer’s day – a lie in followed by a full English breakfast. Head to Aldeburgh with Matt & Albie, enjoy a long stroll by the sea, grab some chips and a drink in a pub garden. Head home, invite over some friends and the family over, get the bbq going and pop open the prosecco!
