CathySales Support Co-ordinator
Cathy Simmonds is highly organised Sales Support Co-ordinator. Part of the SBC sales team, Cathy knows exactly what orders are coming in and out of SBC.
Tell us a bit about yourself Cathy?
I started work at SBC back in January, before that I was working for a promotional fulfilment company in Norfolk. I moved back to Suffolk after finding my new home, last October; a windmill in a small village about 10 miles from the SBC Offices. I have a dog called Max, named after Max Biaggi as he was so fast when I got him which would be about ten years ago (you need to see the wheelie on You Tube if you haven’t heard of Max Biaggi!).
I am one of the few who don’t do Facebook, Twitter or have a sat-nav, as I find it reassuring to know where I am on a map (which would be from my flying days). I have a Private Pilot License, unfortunately not current as I have not kept my hours up due to lack of time.
I enjoy walking, cooking and eating out, but most of all a challenge or project to keep me busy.
What’s your area of expertise?
I am a very operational person, I like to get things from A to B as quickly and as cost effectively as possible.
Do you have a personal beauty tip to share?
I would suggest be happy about who you are and take time for you, so find half an hour a day to treat yourself, maybe a face mask or an extra-long soak in the bath – it doesn’t matter what, the secret is to make time for yourself and relax.
What is your favourite SBC product?
Do you have a real beauty no-no or bug bear?
People who complain about their skin, but don’t ensure that they remove all of their make-up. It is so important to cleanse your skin.
What goes on in your average day at SBC?
So much, no two days are the same here. Orders and everything relating to them is my top priority, processing & despatching, ensuring we are hold stocks to fulfil orders, chasing carriers, answering queries and general admin.
Desert Island Disc?
Difficult to say just one, but I have great memories of a particular CD. A few years ago while working for a hot air balloon team in Switzerland, there was very little music we could all agree on. There was one CD we all sang our hearts out to every track and by the end of two weeks we even had our own lyrics to most of the songs. It was Queens Greatest Hits, and even to this day if I hear a track it makes me smile.
Pasta, seafood with a chilli sauce followed by a very naughty chocolate pudding!
SBC is based in Suffolk, what is your favourite Suffolk spot?
My home, I only moved in at the end of last year and it love it, the views are fab and every morning I walk the dog around the fields looking across to areas some of our greatest artists have spent time putting on canvas. Don’t start me off I could go on about South Suffolk all day.
Describe your perfect day?
A perfect day would include a long walk with my dog, lunch or dinner with friends and maybe trying something new - a cookery class to improve my skills would just the thing.
